About Lyndon
I hold an honours degree in theoretical Physics (York), a research degree in solid state Physics (Uclan), a PGCE in Physics and Maths (Lancaster) and am a career teacher - never wanted to do anything else. I was delighted to receive the 'excellent teacher' award from Stanford University having been recommended by my students. As an A Level expert examiner, JCQ (Joint Council for Qualifications) gave me the award for 'services to examining'. Online I charge 40 pounds per hour for GCSE, 50 pounds per hour for A Level with an extra 10 pounds travelling charge for tuition in your home.
Previously I was head of Science & Physics at a prestigious secondary school with excellent A Level grades - 20% A*; 45 %A*/A and 90% A*-B with GCSE grades to match (verifiable).
All abilities welcome. Students I have tutored have been awarded places at Oxford, Cambridge and Stamford (USA) whilst students predicted a '2' at GCSE Maths Foundation Level have gone on to be awarded 4s and 5s in the Following June.

I teach Physics and Mathematics at GCSE and A Level (all boards). Students learn best when they know the point in learning something, and so I always relate the topic to an application in real life. Lessons are online or in your home* and are typically one hour (or 1h 30m max for both subjects). The first lesson, by Zoom, is used to get to know each other, discuss your student's needs, and develop a teaching plan. Online, I use 'Zoom Pro' which has no time restrictions, interactive whiteboards and the ability to upload past papers which both the student and I can write on.
