About Thoren
I have a degree in Video/Television and Film, focusing in live television and video editing for Hofstra University. I have worked in multimedia in many different industries, including live news, creative services, corporate marketing, higher education, social media management, and content creation. All of my roles have included experience in photography, video production, video editing, graphic design, social media strategy, and copywriting for video and social media.
As a woman in the photo/video industry, I strive myself on producing incredibly high quality work, maintaining and consistently upgrading my skillset, and elevating other women alongside myself.

As a creative professional, I understand the need for students to learn both the creative basics and the industry standards they'll need to be successful in the many varied areas of marketing, journalism, news, portrait, freelancing.
As with any practical skill I believe it is always best to begin by getting familiar with the program itself through simple practical activities that gradually increase in difficulty. Learning photo editing software is similar to learning a new language and can be challenging and complex. So, I like to have students take a step by step approach, gradually increasing their skill level and confidence.
I currently teach photo and video skills at the college level and my lessons are designed for those 16yrs and up.
