About Sara
My name is Sara, you can also call me Mimi. I am a Nigerian photographer raised in Dublin, Ireland, and I am 21 years old. I have always been drawn to the arts: stories, images, and the many ways we portray human experience. I write, and over the last five years, I’ve become deeply committed to film and photography.
My photography is an extension of my wider creative world: my writing, my visual art, and the thoughts and feelings I try to bring into physical form. My work is artistic and introspective. I aim to communicate emotion, internal landscapes, and moments of reflection, capturing them in a way that invites viewers to interpret and connect. In many ways, my photographs are a reflection of myself: my experiences, my observations, and sometimes a sense of longing and escapism.
My inspiration comes from my Christian faith, from nature, and from the people around me, my friends and my family, as well as music and other art forms like poetry and paintings.
I am still growing and refining my craft, but storytelling and connection remain at the center of my work. If my art is what I leave behind, then I plan to shape it into something meaningful and memorable.

My teaching approach is experience-based and practical. I focus on helping students understand their camera or phone, how to choose affordable equipment that suits their needs, and how to work confidently with what they already have. Lessons cover the basics of lighting, composition, and visual balance, drawing inspiration not only from photography but also from other art forms such as painting and visual art to help build a strong creative eye.
Sessions are hands-on and can last between 30 minutes to over an hour, depending on the task and availability. While I have not formally tutored photography before, I am frequently asked by friends and others for guidance on photography techniques, equipment choices, and improving their images.
My lessons are especially suited to beginners, as I believe building a strong foundation is essential. That said, I am open to working with students of different levels who are interested in developing their visual style and confidence. I value learning as an ongoing process and aim to create a relaxed, supportive space where students can grow creatively.
