About Rasmus
I'm currently a postdoc at East China Normal University, Shanghai. I was formerly a PhD student at Durham University, undertaking a interdisciplinary degree combining philosophy and evolutionary theory. My academic background is very varied. While doing my Master's in philosophy I also took subjects in history, psychology, literature, neuroscience, pedagogy, and film studies. I have ten years experience in tutoring and giving feedback on essays from my old university, Norwegian University of Science and Technology, where I worked as a teaching assistant.

I've taught on my different levels. Primary school, secondary school, high school, adult learning, an university. My approach differs depending on the level (obviously) but it is important first to decide the level the student/pupil is currently on, and to go from there -- as not to overwhelm him/her or make it too easy. I apply a 'Socratic' method where I mostly ask questions for the student and let them arrive at the answer themselves (if possible). I'm very apt at giving feedback on academic essays, as I've done this for many years.
