About Selen
I’m a second-year PhD student at UCL studying lipid metabolism and its role in GBA1-linked Parkinson’s Disease. I hold First-Class degrees in Biomedical Science (BSc) and Biomedical & Molecular Research (MSc) from King’s College London. I’m passionate about teaching and helping students gain confidence in complex topics. I’ve always enjoyed breaking down challenging ideas and guiding others towards academic success, whether it's preparing for exams or mastering university-level content. I teach because I genuinely love sharing knowledge and seeing students grow in their understanding and skills.

As a current PhD student at UCL researching lipid metabolism in GBA1-linked Parkinson’s Disease, I offer flexible, personalised online biology lessons for GCSE, A-level, and university-level students. I hold two First-Class degrees: a BSc in Biomedical Science and an MSc in Biomedical and Molecular Research from King’s College London. Lessons typically run for 1–2 hours and are tailored to each student's needs and goals. For GCSE and A-level students, I can focus lessons on exam preparation or provide conceptual sessions to deepen understanding. At university level, I help students strengthen their knowledge of challenging topics, develop scientific writing skills, and structure assignments or literature reviews with confidence. Each session is designed to build knowledge, critical thinking, and academic independence.
