About Julia
My passion for tutoring stems from the profound impact that fun and kind teachers have had on my own educational journey. Their encouragement was instrumental in my decision to pursue a PhD, a path I might not have taken without their support. Teaching allows me to pay this forward, aiming to instill the same love for learning in my students. By becoming a professor, I hope to create an engaging, supportive atmosphere where students can thrive, just as my mentors did for me. My goal is to help students discover their potential and enjoy the learning process, ultimately guiding them toward their own successes.

I bring a creative, friendly, and flexible approach to help students excel in academic writing, scientific understanding, and essay/dissertation composition. Drawing from my background in environmental science, marine science, and policy, as well as my current pursuit of a PhD in marine social science, I tailor lessons to each student's needs and learning style. I emphasize clarity and structure in writing, demystify complex scientific concepts with real-world examples, and guide students through the essay-writing process from brainstorming to polishing final drafts. Through interactive discussions, constructive feedback, and engaging exercises, I aim to foster not only academic success but also a deeper appreciation and curiosity for the subjects at hand.
