About Alexander
I am a student at Edinburgh University starting a PhD titled Sub-State Foreign Policy and Scotland’s interactions on the World Stage in September. Previously I have completed my undergraduate and masters in Middle East, Caucuses and Central Asian studies at the University of St Andrews. I have participated in the teaching of classes in International relations at Undergraduate level and have personally tutored two others on a volunteer basis helping them achieve their Bachelors degrees. Finally I have also undertaken internships at the Scottish and UK parliaments giving me practical experience of the policy formation process.

My teaching method is discussion orientated with student led goals that I can aid them in achieving. I am looking for engaged students who have an interest in foreign politics and world affairs. No experience is required as my introductory lesson[s] would focus on theoretical fundamentals of international relations to ground students in methodologies and practical skills to interpret the wide variety of information sources present in this field. This theoretical grounding will further assist the student in critical analysis of current affairs beyond the scope of International Relations. My teaching would be mainly focused at degree level students however I am happy to accommodate any level.
