About Maria
I am a geographer of vocation. I'm a Geographer by conviction. I'm a Geographer for love. Nature and society are two inherent concepts in me. This translates into a real passion for the subject. Passion that, since I enrolled in the Faculty, has helped me prepare myself as a 100% professional. Trips abroad, trips to the countryside, interviews with people from different countries, attendance at international congresses, among others, are experiences that have given me enough knowledge to be able to consider me, without any hesitation, geographer. I am also a Ph.D. in Geography from the Institute of Sustainable Agriculture (IAS-CSIC) and a Master's Degree in Environmental Hydraulics from the University of Granada. I have lived 6 years in England and I have 4 as a teacher.

I try as much as possible, that it is the student himself who draws his own conclusions, without the need to indoctrinate. The Social Sciences (Geography and History), are two indispensable subjects to be able to understand the society in which we live, but very given to its politicization. The student does not need that. The student needs to feel that, really, these two subjects are essential to be able to be critical enough and make the decisions that best suit them. That is the objective: that the student, through understanding the importance of both subjects in their day to day, can study them through the practical approach that will be asked in the knowledge tests of the center to which they belong. Schemes, conceptual maps, summaries, physical and political maps, use of geographic technologies and mathematics will be the way to go during the classes.
