About Pallav
I’ve a Bachelor in Civil Engineering from a premier institution in India (IIT). I have a MS in Civil Engineering and another MS in Mechanical Engineering in addition to my PhD degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Currently I’m a researcher at University of California San Diego. I’m doing this for my passion of teaching and mentoring.

I’m really passionate about learning and mentoring. As an instructor I like to focus on building foundational knowledge, which can then be applied to understand a complex topic. I practice active learning techniques during my lectures which are known to help retain focus of the students.
I have years of experience in topics such as Engineering Mathematics (Calculus, Linear Algebra, Complex Numbers, Real Analysis) and Civil/Mechanical Engineering (fluid mechanics, solid mechanics, hydraulics, hydrology). I have taught multiple courses and been rated as excellent instructor by my students.

Perfect! Since Pallav has experience at my university, he was able to understand the time constraints I'm working with. I felt comfortable and free to share honestly what I'm struggling with and what I need. Pallav also included something in his methodology that I didn't realize I was missing: working through a problem on my own. We have our next session already scheduled, and I can't wait to get unstuck.
