About Cecilia
I am a PhD-qualified chemist with extensive research experience, specialising in synthetic organic chemistry, and a genuine passion for teaching. I have tutored consistently throughout both my undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, working with students of varied abilities and learning styles. My academic background allows me to break down complex ideas into clear, manageable concepts, helping students build strong foundations rather than relying on memorisation alone.
Above all, I believe science should be fun, engaging and inspiring. When students understand the “why” behind a concept, curiosity replaces frustration and confidence begins to grow. That confidence is what drives real progress — not just improved performance, but a deeper and more lasting appreciation of the subject.

I tailor every session to the individual student, recognising that everyone learns differently. I have experience supporting students with dyslexia and ADHD, and I adapt my teaching style to ensure sessions are clear, structured and accessible.
Lesson length is also personalised to suit the tutee. Some students learn best through longer, in-depth sessions, while others benefit more from shorter, focused bursts of learning. Typically, lessons range from 30 minutes to 2 hours, but I am flexible depending on individual needs.
