About John

I am proud to have graduated Magna Cum Laude from Drexel University with both Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Biomedical Engineering. Throughout my academic journey, I've been deeply involved in research, culminating in a Master's thesis focused on building a mouse model of prostate cancer in a pharmacology lab. Achieving a score in the 99th percentile on the MCAT is a testament to my dedication to academic excellence. My professional experience includes internships at two major pharmaceutical companies, where I gained valuable insights into research and development. Currently enrolled in the Medical Scientist Training Program at the University of Maryland, I have completed two years of medical school and passed my first board exam. I'm excited to complete my PhD in Bioengineering within the next six months, with a focus on using light-activated drugs to treat brain cancer. I attribute much of my success to the guidance and mentorship I've received, which has inspired me to mentor the next generation of scientists. I strive to create a supportive and enriching learning environment where students can thrive. My commitment to professionalism is evident in my dedication to excellence and passion for nurturing talent. Outside of academia, I enjoy hiking, staying active at the gym, and spending quality time with my dog, Ollie.
