About Vera
Hi, I’m Dr. Vera, a science teacher and clinical medicine researcher with a PhD from Imperial College London and teacher training from the University of Cambridge. I teach because I am committed to helping students truly understand science, and I believe learning should be exciting, confidence-building, and accessible to everyone. I enjoy seeing students go from “I don’t get this” to “I’ve got this!” — and then helping them turn that understanding into top exam grades, while also giving them the tools and skills to explore and think independently. I’ve taught KS3, KS4, iGCSE, A-levels and IB in UK independent schools, and I always prioritise understanding over rushing, taking the time needed to master each topic properly.

My lessons are interactive, clear, and tailored to each student’s needs. I focus on understanding over memorisation, using real-world examples and effective exam techniques to build confidence and curiosity. Lessons typically last 60 minutes, with flexibility for intensive revision or topic focus. I hold a PhD in Clinical Medicine Research from Imperial College London, a PGCE and QTS from the University of Cambridge, and have over three years’ experience teaching GCSE and A-Level and IB Biology in UK independent schools, as well as mentoring graduate students at Imperial College. Lessons are ideal for GCSE, IB and A-Level students, or anyone wanting to strengthen their understanding of biology through engaging, supportive, and scientifically grounded teaching.
