About Emily
I graduated from university in 2020 with a 2:1 BSc in Pharmacology. Since then I have been online tutoring in Biology, Chemistry and Physics (GCSE) and I am currently working in project management in a research institute, based in a London hospital. At A-Level I studied both Biology and Chemistry so I’d love to pass on some of the tips I discovered whilst studying at school, which aided me at university level in my degree. With 3 years of tutoring experience, I have volunteered and worked with schools for various reasons, with a range of different age groups. I use a range of teaching styles, including verbal, visual and practical learning, to support different learning needs and abilities. My tutoring sessions are student-led and interactive, allowing students to actively participate and build confidence in their understanding of Maths and Science.
I often begin or end each session with short quiz-style questions to assess understanding, reinforce key concepts and identify areas that may need further support. This also allows me to adapt future sessions to the student’s individual progress and learning needs.
My aim is to make Maths and Science enjoyable, accessible and engaging, while helping students develop both their knowledge and confidence throughout KS2 and KS3.
