About Julia
Hi, I'm Julia! I am a current fourth year med student at Ohio State and have a passion for tutoring! I have a B.S. in Biology from the University of Oklahoma, and am in the fourth year of the M.D. program at The Ohio State University College of Medicine. In high school, I scored in the top 0.5% on the PSAT and was subsequently designated as a National Merit Scholar. I also scored in the 97th percentile on the ACT and the 98th percentile on the SAT. Once in college, I scored in the 98th percentile by achieving a 519 on the MCAT (130/128/130/131).

Following my own success on standardized exams, I began tutoring other students on college entrance exams and the MCAT. Not only have I worked with students on the topics tested on these exams (science, math, reading, social sciences), but I also teach test taking strategies and help students manage test anxiety. Having an approach to a standardized exam is half of the battle, and can make a huge difference on test day!
Learning is different for everyone, and as such, my approach to teaching is highly individualized! I start by meeting with students and discussing their needs and goals, and what they feel works best for them when learning (or if that is something we need to explore!) Each tutoring session is interactive, and generally geared towards what the student wants to accomplish and our timeline. I then provide resources to work through for our next session. I believe everyone has the capacity to learn and excel, and we can work together to find the best approach for you :)
