  • When and why did you develop an interest in your chosen field?

My fascination with mathematics began in high school, around age 15, when I first saw how a simple algebraic trick could transform an impossible-looking problem into a neat solution. I remember solving a system of equations in ten seconds-where the rest of the class was still scratching their heads-and feeling an irresistible thrill. From there, I jumped head-first into every math club, contest, and extra credit problem set I could find. That initial spark of "magic" is what led me to pursue dual master's degrees in Pure and Applied Mathematics at the University of Montréal and École Polytechnique de Montréal.
  • What makes you passionate about your subject?

Mathematics is the ultimate playground for curious minds: it's where logic meets creativity. I love that there's always more than one way to crack a problem-sometimes you solve it through geometry, other times with a clever series expansion. Sharing these "math hacks" with students never gets old. Plus, I'm still amazed by how an abstract concept (like eigenvalues or complex-valued functions) can have real-world applications-from physics to data science.
  • What do you like about tutoring? What makes you a "Superprof"?

    1. Personal connection: Unlike a crowded lecture hall, one-on-one tutoring lets me tailor each session to the student's unique learning style-whether they're a visual learner who loves graphs or someone who thrives on word-problems and stories.

    2. Instant feedback: Seeing a student's eyes light up when they finally "get it" is more rewarding than any cup of coffee.

    3. Adaptability: Over 23 years of experience-helping middle-schoolers through graduate students-I've honed a toolbox of analogies, interactive exercises, and real-time assessments. That variety, plus my bilingual fluency (English/French), is what makes me stand out as a Superprof.
  • Do you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

Absolutely-my high-school teacher, Mme Lévesque, was a master at turning abstract ideas into everyday analogies. She once compared the concept of a limit in calculus to approaching a red light on a bicycle: you get infinitely close, but you can't quite cross it if you stop pedaling. That playful image stuck with me and shaped the way I teach: always grounding theory in concrete, memorable examples.
  • What are your keys to success?

    1. Curiosity: Continually exploring new problems-from topology puzzles to PDEs-so I can bring fresh insights to every lesson.

    2. Empathy: Listening first to understand each student's frustrations and goals, then crafting a roadmap that feels achievable and fun.

    3. Consistency: Setting small, clear milestones (e.g., "Today we'll master quadratic factoring") keeps progress tangible and confidence high.

    4. Lifelong learning: Attending workshops, reading the latest research, and exchanging ideas with fellow educators ensures my methods stay sharp and up-to-date.
