About Mia
About Me I’m currently pursuing my undergraduate degree at the Kansas City Art Institute, building on a foundation shaped by years of specialized training at an art-focused middle and high school. My passion for visual storytelling has led to several exhibitions of my work, where I’ve had the opportunity to share my creative voice with diverse audiences. I approach each project with professionalism, curiosity, and a commitment to growth—both as an artist and as a collaborator.

My Teaching Philosophy & Approach
I believe art is both a skill and a language. My goal is to help students build technical confidence while nurturing their creative voice. I focus on:
• Hands-on exploration: Students learn by doing—sketching, painting, experimenting.
• Medium fluency: I teach how each medium behaves and how to use them intentionally.
• Growth mindset: Mistakes are part of the process. I encourage curiosity and resilience.
Multi-medium integration: I teach how to transition between traditional and digital tools, helping students become versatile.
• Creative freedom: I encourage students to personalize assignments and explore their style.
Who These Lessons Are For
• Level: Beginners in middle school (grades 6–8) and high school (grades 9–12).
• Class type: Art electives, after-school programs, homeschoolers, or summer intensives.
• No prior experience required—just curiosity and a willingness to try.
