About Silvestre
. WHO AM I .
I’m a trained, professional and experienced Actor and Theatre Director who has recently moved from Lisbon to the UK.
I have a degree in Acting for Theatre and I had the wonderful opportunity to have been continuously working professionally as an actor for the past years. I’ve worked with many Theatre companies and in many Portuguese Theatres, The Nacional Theatre included.
Even though young, over the years, I’ve experienced and witnessed many particularities about the craft of acting that I find most valuable.
As a Theatre Director, I do hold a good amount of practical knowledge when it comes to directing actors, in guiding them as they reach a place they thought unreachable and that surprises all (actors, spectators and myself included). I’m talking about the uniqueness in each individual that can not be forced to shine. This “shinning uniqueness” is peculiarly difficult to describe but it is visible and reachable and I wish to guide you towards achieving such a valuable tool.

. ENGLISH LANGUAGE BACKGROUND .
I believe it’s important for me to add that I’ve been fluent in English ever since the age of 6 and I’ve, in the past, even worked part-time as an English teacher for adults. My native language might be Portuguese but this won’t stand in the way of proper communication while teaching. My spoken English is quite developed, you will have no trouble understanding me and I will have no trouble understanding you. Language won’t be a barrier between us.

My methodology begins by simplifying, by erasing the mind of unnecessary worries that only serve to block the actor, leaving them powerless and incapable of reaching their full potential.
This will be achieved through practical exercises (understanding through action and speech).
All can be great actors.
I don’t trust what is perceived as natural talent.
I believe real talent comes with interest, dedication and availability to work hard and in a way that is right for you.
What works for some may not work for you. And this shouldn’t be cause of frustration, it should be cause of excitement.
Different actions lead to different results. Difference brings true uniqueness. And your own uniqueness is what you should be working on.
I am aware each student has their own great potential and way of receiving and processing information.
I don’t use the same approach with all students. Each class is tailored differently and always in your favor.
As an individual, there’s no doubt you have what's necessary to achieve acting greatness.
I want to guide you towards a place that will surprise and excite you.
Your classes are all about developing your skills.
They are for you and only you.

I’ve been following Silvestre’s work for the past years and I can, without a doubt, say that the growth has been tremendous. From an enthusiast to student to professional, Silvestre’s background and present abilities prove that he does have skill and he knows how to share it too. If we’re both available, I will have no trouble extending the duration of the class if necessary (with no extra cost).
