About Amanda
As a student in a secondary education program, I have been observing, creating, and teaching lessons for the last four years. However, I began to tutor students on an individual and consistent basis only recently. So far, I have been really impressed in the achievements that I have seen, which include a high school sophomore that was told he would have to repeat the 10th grade moving his grades up from single digits to a B+ and successfully passing, as well as a high school junior raising his SAT score by 100 points in just a few days!

Hello! I am currently a college student finishing up my BA with a major in English and minor in history while being in the secondary education program; to put it shortly, I'm two classes away from being an English and/or history teacher for 7-12th grade! Teaching is my passion and I love helping students explore their interests in the subjects I hold closest to my heart. I consider myself a friendly, understanding, and accommodating person so anyone that I work with should have little to worry about or fear.
I will offer the following services:
- Teaching new concepts
- Re-teaching or clarifying school-taught concepts
- Editing written work
- Advising authors on how to improve their writing
- Homework help
Each service has its own standard procedure but it will all be dependent on individual needs and, thus, subject to change as I will try to be as flexible as I can.
Who Can I Help:
My career might specialize in middle/high school students but I have spent most of my college experience on the Dean's List, meaning that I've maintained at least a 3.5 GPA each semester. As my concentration on English might indicate, reading and writing have always been hobbies of mine and I consider myself more than capable of helping others improve their skills in those areas. Whether you are in the age group I'll spend the the next few decades teaching or you're in college classes like myself, I would be more than happy to help you progress.
