About Rhys
With 7 years of piano teaching experience and nearly 300 students trained, I provide lessons that are structured, engaging, and tailored to each student’s goals. I work with high school students, college learners, and adults, helping them improve technical skills, musicality, and performance confidence.
My teaching philosophy emphasises discipline, steady progress, and expressive playing, focusing on posture, hand coordination, finger independence, scales, chord transitions, rhythm, sight-reading, and musical interpretation.
I adapt lessons to each student’s pace, providing feedback and achievable targets, and many of my students have excelled in graded examinations and performed successfully in recitals, school concerts, and public events. I aim to create a supportive and inspiring environment where students feel motivated and confident to reach their full potential.

My piano teaching philosophy focuses on guiding students towards independence through flexibility, collaboration, positivity, and adaptation. I personalise lessons according to each student’s learning pace and style.
I concentrate on developing correct posture, finger strength, rhythm accuracy, and expressive interpretation. Lessons are divided into structured steps to ensure clarity and steady progress. If challenges arise, I adjust the lesson plan and provide additional support.
Collaboration encourages students to take ownership of their musical development by setting realistic goals and tracking achievements.
I create a positive learning space where students feel comfortable performing and improving. Beyond piano, I also teach music theory, ear training, harmony, and music appreciation to deepen musical understanding.
