About Os
I am finishing a Film Studies MA at Concordia University and have a BF in Critical Cultural practices from Emily Carr University.
I have been published in Animation an Interdisciplinary Journal and peer reviewed for said journal and other academic publications.
During my three years as a graduate student, I have supervised undergraduate students in the position of teaching assistant and marker for several courses in different subjects within film studies.
Additionally, I have been film reviewing since 2016.

As an undergraduate student I was able to publish in a peer reviewed journal because I had confidence in my writing, research methods, and bibliographical research.
I focus my teaching in solid foundations of writing and critical thinking, feeding from the simplicity of journalistic writing and editorial copy-editing to convey arguments in a clear manner to specialists and non-specialists alike, abiding by academic styles like Chicago and MLA for proper citation and to avoid plagiarism.
I emphasize researching (including original research) to grant the academic authority for any claim, allowing arguments (in essays or thesis proposals) to have solidity to their claim. Looking for loopholes in thinking and encouraging self-criticality, specially when the argument goes against the grain of academic conventions.
Additionally, I consider the packaging of these labor, for university, popular, and academic publications differ in their demands from students/writers/researchers.
