About Cassidy
Hello! My name is Cassidy Douglas, and I am a New York State–certified TESOL teacher with a Master’s degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from SUNY New Paltz. I have over 10 years of experience supporting elementary, middle, high school and adult students in both U.S. and international settings, working with learners at a variety of English proficiency levels. I provide patient, structured, and encouraging instruction that is tailored to each student’s individual needs. I strive to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, building confidence, and making real progress. I truly enjoy helping students grow academically and gain confidence in their language skills, and I look forward to working with you!

My Tutoring Approach I use a student-centered and supportive approach to help learners build confidence and strong language skills. Lessons are clear, engaging, and adapted to each student’s level. I use visuals, guided practice, real-life examples, and interactive tools like Quizlet and Kahoot to support understanding. Lesson Structure Each session includes: A short warm-up or review Focus on one key skill (reading, writing, speaking, grammar, or vocabulary) Guided and independent practice Quick feedback and goal-setting What Sets Me Apart I am trained in TESOL and experienced in working with English Language Learners at different proficiency levels. I specialize in breaking down academic language into simple, manageable steps while creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment. Who I Tutor I work with elementary, middle and high school students (Grades K–12), and adult students who need help with English development, classwork, homework, or confidence using English in school.

Perfect! Cassie was great, came prepared, assessed him for his reading level made both my son and I feel super comfortable and had a productive session with my 4th grader - Highly recommend!
