Lessons are highly individualized for each student.
I love teaching.
I've been performing since I toured with the
Jazz Fusion Band, Entropy while in HS. I worked my way through grad school reading shows and playing dance music around NY.
Concert Band and Choral Director/Conductor
I'm happy to work with children of all ages, from 3 to 93.
We develop the skills people call "Talents" such as
ear training and rhythmic sense.
We learn how to read, play by ear, and improvise. We also do ear and rhythm training to improve our musicianship. We learn how to play with other musicians.
My students learn the science of music and the neuroscience of practice. Understanding how to practice makes improvement much easier and faster.
According to scholarly research, two years of this type of instrument study will increase the average IQ by 8.5 points! Nothing uses more of the brain than learning a musical instrument.
In the end, the key is understanding each student.
