About Shannon
My name is Shannon, and I am a dedicated educator with a passion for helping students grow in confidence and academic skill. I am currently earning my Master’s degree in Elementary Education (K–8) with a focus in Special Education and work as a Special Education Paraprofessional in a middle school. I also bring valuable experience as a former homeschool parent, which has shaped my approach to flexible, individualized instruction. I genuinely enjoy tutoring and learning right alongside my students, and I believe that strong relationships are the foundation of meaningful learning. My teaching style is patient, supportive, and student-centered, with a focus on meeting learners where they are and helping them progress at their own pace. My goal is to create a safe, encouraging environment where every student feels capable, supported, and motivated to succeed.

My lessons are structured, supportive, and tailored to each student’s individual needs. I focus on English and reading skills, including phonics, reading comprehension, vocabulary development, grammar, and writing, using strategies that build confidence and understanding. Lessons are interactive and student-centered, allowing learners to ask questions, practice skills in meaningful ways, and make real-world connections.
