About Alisa
I am a UCL Biomedical Sciences student, with 4A* at A levels in Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. I tutor Chemistry, Biology and Physics and will teach you everything that helped me achieve such results.
I have always loved all areas of science, especially Biology. Achieving a place at UCL, the top research university for biology in the UK, has been one of my biggest accomplishments.
Over my two years at IGCSE, and two years at A level, I have spent hundreds of hours making notes, flash cards, diagrams, and I finally have an opportunity to help others, making their life easier than mine was when I was taking my exams.
Most teachers can teach you the syllabus, but I believe that nobody is better than a past student at teaching you exactly what you need to know, and which exact model answers, etc, you need to memorise in order to achieve an excellent result.
I am eager to help with any homework, past papers, tutorials and exam technique! Anything you need.

My teaching method:
Rather than following the same procedure, as most tutors do, I prefer to listen to the student and cater my lessons to their needs.
The first lesson would include us going through the syllabus, and seeing potential exam questions, in order to find areas of weakness or gaps to focus on for the next few lessons.
I would prepare power points to teach the topics required, followed by three or four recurring past-paper questions to reinforce what we learned. This is key, as most longer questions have standard points you always have to mention in order to get full marks. We would then work together to form a good model answer for these key questions.
All of the content provided by me would be emailed to you after every session. I would also create additional and summative notes to help with studying and memorisation.
Our other sessions would include going through past paper questions, discussing difficult concepts and training to have an elaborate exam technique.
As well as this, all my students should feel free to book a session on short notice, if any questions arise while studying, or if they require help with schoolwork. They are also able to drop me an email with whatever they need at any time.
The most important thing I can provide as a tutor is support. It is crucial for our sessions to be all about you. Rather than having to go through more stressful school-like lessons, I strive to make my sessions very flexible, focusing on helping you with whatever you are struggling with.
