About Jac
I believe English and Philosophy are unique in academic studies because they do not only concern the acquisition of knowledge and passing of exams but are fundamental to helping us understand who we are, how we relate to each other, and how we relate to the world. It is an introduction to a lifelong philosophical enquiry that will inspire us to contribute to, reflect upon and absorb this ongoing discussion. Therefore, the encouragement and training of effective communication is a vital skill.
As an early-career academic philosopher, I am extremely passionate and keen to teach because I enjoy enthusing students, academics, as well as a general audience about the relevance and application of English and Philosophy in a changing and uncertain world

My teaching focus is a collaborative and inclusive learning culture. It is paramount, from my very first interaction with my students, that they feel valued for their contributions, their commitment and their engagement with the learning material. My responsibility as an educator is to be available, respectful, constructively critical and always supportive.

I have taught reading and literacy to secondary school students. I have taught philosophy at first year undergraduate level, graded and assessed essays, and provided one-to-one tutorials and pastoral care to my students
