About Esther
I am a student at the University of Oxford. I have completed both the Religious Studies GCSE, in which I achieved a level 9, and A-Level, in which I received an A*. My passion for religious studies is wide-ranging, and I am devoted to providing clear and memorable explanations on topics like philosophy, ethics and theology. I have a particular interest in Christianity and Buddhism, and can effectively explain elements of many different religions using a set of resources that I have specifically tailored to help students sitting religious studies exams. My love for studying and teaching religions allows me to introduce the most difficult elements of religious studies in a clear and detailed manner, as seen in the GCSE and A-Level syllabi. I tutor a wide range of subjects beyond religious studies, and my students have received top grades at GCSE and A-level in all subjects.

I am really passionate about religious studies, and I hope to share my enthusiasm with others through our lessons together! As a home-educated student who self-studied for all my GCSEs and A-levels, I am experienced in supporting students of all ages and all levels with independent study. I aim to encourage students to develop their full potential through inspiring and engaging lessons to nurture a love for learning. I am particularly enthusiastic about helping students achieve top grades while creating a fun and interactive classroom environment. I have taken a Y13 student from a predicted C grade to an A grade at A-Level in only 6 months. I tutor religious studies to GCSE students and A-Level students, as well as younger students. I can help pupils with all elements of religious studies and religious education, including philosophy, ethics and theology. My speciality religion is Christianity; I am also very knowledgeable about Buddhism, and can help students study any other religion beyond these. My approach to each lesson is very adaptable as I tailor each class to the individual student's needs and interests. I am experienced in teaching essay-writing skills and helping students to structure clear, evaluative answers. Whether students would like to focus on practices and traditions, revision skills, knowledge comprehension, or anything beyond this, I am more than happy to help out! I can also aid with Oxbridge preparation, personal statement writing, and interview practice.
