• 1. Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?

  I am a very curious mind since childhood, and everything made me wonder...
  *How do children resemble their parents?
  *How does a tiny seed I planted now grow into this huge plant?
  *Why do I have to take those bitter drops(oral polio vaccine) every now and then?
  And many more "WHYs and HOWs"?
  Knowing about them made me dig deeper and... that is how I developed an interest in this study of Living!

• 2. What or who is the motivation behind your choice to teach & why?

  Having a great teacher enables you to acknowledge and appreciate the beauty of that study. That is what happened to me.
  
  My natural interest in Biology was further built and nourished by my high school Biology teacher Mrs Indu ma'am! She explained each process like a beautiful story, made us practical experience with all experiments that were possible and further built my love towards biology.
  
  Watching her made me feel that I also should be one like her, and that is what prompted me to take up teaching!

• 3. How does your work help society?

  Teaching is like moulding a rock into a beautiful Diamond!
  Everyone has a unique talent, and having a highly efficient yet friendly teacher who can identify, and shape the talent makes a ton of difference. That is what I get to make, help the person grow in their subject of interest and add a gem to society.

• 4. If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?

  My mom is my role model, she has been a teacher for the last 38 years and is still teaching. All her students just love her. She is very compassionate, patient, and very friendly and could make a lot of difference in the lives of her students.
  She is my ROLE MODEL!!!

• 5. Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.

  I am a Singer🎶, and I love singing. It squeezes away all my stress out!!
  A Good Cook too!
  And Gardening just heals me!

• 6. Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?

  The first day I wore the Doctor Apron, and a stethoscope, and realised the dream of a naive 5-year-old Niharika, finally had become a reality, and a new phase of life began from then. It's a roller coaster ride, but very worth in the end
  The joy of identifying and treating tiny disease people come with, and the gratitude they convey after being cured, its the best feeling ever.
