About Alisha
Hi! I'm Alisha, a 17-year-old student with a genuine passion for mathematics and helping others learn. Ever since I started taking more advanced math classes, I've loved the feeling of solving challenging problems and finding simple ways to explain concepts that seem confusing at first.
I recently completed IB Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches Higher Level (AA HL), which strengthened both my mathematical knowledge and my problem-solving skills. Going through such a rigorous course taught me the importance of patience, persistence, and looking at problems from different perspectives.
One of the things people often notice about me is that I'm friendly, patient, and easy to talk to. I believe learning is much easier when you feel comfortable asking questions, so I always strive to create a supportive and encouraging environment. As a current student, I understand the pressures of school and can relate to the challenges students face because I've experienced them myself.
Outside of academics, I'm someone who enjoys learning new things/skills and adventure through travel. Nothing is more rewarding to me than seeing someone finally understand a concept they once thought was impossible.
I'm excited to share what I've learned and help others discover that math doesn't have to be intimidating—it can actually be enjoyable with the right guidance.

My goal as a tutor is to make math feel understandable, approachable, and even enjoyable. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all lesson plan, I tailor each session to the student's individual needs and learning style.
If you have homework, we'll work through it together step by step so you understand not only how to solve the problem but also why the solution works. If you're learning a new topic in class, I can explain any concepts you're confused about using clear examples and different approaches until everything clicks. I encourage students to ask as many questions as they need, creating a comfortable environment where no question is "too small."
Having completed IB Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches Higher Level (AA HL), I'm comfortable teaching a wide range of topics, including arithmetic, pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, trigonometry, functions, precalculus, calculus, statistics, and many other secondary and introductory college-level math concepts.
What sets me apart is my ability to explain difficult ideas in a simple, patient, and relatable way. As a recent student myself, I understand the challenges of learning advanced mathematics and know how to break complex topics into manageable steps that build confidence and long-term understanding.
My lessons are ideal for anyone looking for extra support with math, whether you're preparing for a test, working through assignments, reviewing difficult concepts, or simply trying to improve your overall understanding and grades.
