About Cate
I study French and Spanish, have studied Latin and will be starting German soon. I know what it's like to begin learning a foreign language but similarly, know the meticulous techniques of getting to grips with a foreign language in depth.
I currently teach French to 2 students, one aged 18 another 13.
I'm on my gap year currently and am eager to inspire a passion for languages in others.
Among other things, I love travelling, reading, current affairs, feminism and creating art.

I use spontaneous conversation, presentations, francophone music, grammar exercise sheets, verbal, aural and written tests, articles from newspapers and other sources, news clips and more as part of my teaching.
I put lots of focus on culture and the current affairs of francophone countries while I am teaching the language; learning a language opens your eyes to a different perspective on the world.
I am very considerate of the needs of the student. Whatever level you are up to and including A-Level, I am happy to help.
I help students specifically with their pronunciation in French through joint reading aloud activities.
I am confident that I can catalyse students to do much better in their language exams however I find that with learning a language, if you take a less exam-heavy approach and immerse yourself in the language, the exams will simply go well.
