About Joseph
I am a final-year Philosophy undergraduate at the University of Reading, currently on track for a First. Through my degree, I have developed strong skills in analysing complex arguments, explaining difficult ideas clearly, evaluating competing viewpoints and writing high-achieving philosophical essays.
What I love most about philosophy is the way it makes my world feel larger and more interesting. It has helped me question what seems obvious, understand myself and others more deeply, and discover ideas and problems I had never previously considered. I hope to share my enthusiasm with my students and help them experience philosophy as not just a subject to memorise for an exam, but a way of seeing the world more clearly, thinking independently and engaging with questions that matter.

I offer patient, friendly and well-prepared tutoring sessions tailored to each student’s individual needs. Whether a student is struggling with a particular topic, aiming to improve their essay writing or preparing for an exam, I use clear explanations, essay planning, practice questions and lively discussion to make complex ideas manageable and enjoyable.
Sessions typically last one hour. I provide constructive feedback and create a supportive environment in which students feel comfortable asking questions, testing arguments and expressing disagreement. Although I am new to formal tutoring, I take the responsibility seriously and prepare carefully for every session. My aim is to help A-level Philosophy and Ethics students strengthen their subject knowledge, analytical skills and confidence in discussing and writing about philosophical ideas.
