About Jing
I have always been highly passionate about my subject and hope to inspire others who chose to study it! I believe everyone is capable of great success once the right help, and more importantly, work, is provided.
So far I've specialised in medieval english, modern european, and gender history! However, I am always keen to take on a new topic, especially if it can help a student! In my spare time I like to indulge in literature, piano playing, and college netball!

GCSE & IGCSE:
- Before the introductory lesson I will look at both the examination board and topics that the student takes, as well as samples of their recent work so that I can arrange a tutoring plan accordingly.
- For GCSE/IGCSE, I tend to prioritise content learning, specifically niche facts that could make or break an argument. This comes from looking at examiners reports, in which markers highly credit specificity and knowledge.
- Similarly, exam technique and structuring is also important as there are baseline marks to be awarded.
- I am always happy to dedicate time outside of sessions to mark any work/practice papers that are done!!!
A Level:
- Much like with the GCSE/IGCSE, tutoring plans prior to the first session are also made.
- A Level history coursework plays a big part in securing crucial marks, as exams tend to be rather time pressured for most. If this is applicable, I will do my own research on both the topic and question in order to better support the student, as I have access to a profusion of academic materials and papers. Coursework is something I believe you should always strive to achieve full/near full marks for.
- I see the greatest importance in approaching A level exam questions tactically, exam technique and structure should always be at the forefront of learning/revision, being implemented as soon as possible.
- Erudite and well displayed answers are the key to scoring highly in exams, very often markers will form an opinion within the first few lines.
- Again, I am always happy to dedicate time outside of sessions to mark any work/practice papers that are done!!!
HAT:
- Having done all existing Oxford HAT and Cambridge HAA tests, I am well aware of the structuring, analysis and language requirements.
- I find that most candidates see the admissions tests as rather daunting, which I understand but don't think necessary. I myself would like to show students that it can be an enjoyable and eye opening process as it reflects much of the source work one would do for Oxbridge essays.
- I have been taught by Oxford professors and Oxbridge educated teachers on both HAT and interview techniques, where they often present similar tasks.
