About Anya
My own success at school came down to two things: hard work, and the guidance of teachers who took the time to help me figure out how I learned best. That combination taught me just how much difference the right support can make. As a recent student myself, I understand the challenges young people are facing today, and I want to use that to help students not just improve their grades, but genuinely enjoy their subject.

A big part of my own progress came from learning how to study my way. I experimented until I found methods that actually worked for me, and used them to build resources that helped me achieve top grades. I want to help my students do the same. Revision resources don't have to be dull lists of notes, they can be creative and engaging, from visual timelines to storyboards, and making them is a crucial part of the learning process itself.
I studied History at Oxford University, so I know exactly what it takes to manage a heavy workload without burning out. I can help with more than just the subject - building good routines, managing your time, and balancing school with everything else going on.
I also hold a TEFL qualification, giving me a strong grounding in how to explain things clearly and adapt to different learners. These tools ensure my approach is grounded not just in personal experience, but in sound teaching practice.

I take a person-focused approach to tutoring. Rather than walking into a lesson purely fixated on grades, my priority is helping students genuinely enjoy their subject as I believe engagement is often what drives the best results, not the other way around. I believe students learn best when the teaching style fits them, so I take time to understand how each student learns and tailor my methods accordingly. For example:
Methodical learners might benefit from structured practice papers, past-question breakdowns, and step-by-step exam technique.
Visual learners often respond well to mind maps, timelines, and diagrams to help organise complex information.
Discussion-based learners may prefer talking through ideas, debating interpretations, and verbalising arguments before writing them down.
I adapt my methodology lesson to lesson, student to student, rather than using a one-size-fits-all formula.
Lessons typically run for around 1 hour, though I'm happy to be flexible depending on what works best for the student — whether that's a shorter, focused session or a slightly longer one when tackling a specific topic in depth.
