About Weza
I am a highly motivated and experienced History tutor and an Oxford University graduate with a First Class degree in History and Modern Languages (French). Having studied History at one of the world’s leading universities, I have developed a deep understanding of the subject, as well as the analytical, essay-writing and critical-thinking skills needed to excel academically.
I have over three years of teaching and tutoring experience, working with students across a range of ages and abilities. My approach is friendly, encouraging and personalised, while maintaining high standards and a strong focus on achieving results. I believe that every student can improve with the right guidance, and I adapt my lessons to suit their individual learning style, goals and areas for development.
Whether you are looking to build confidence, improve essay technique, prepare for exams, strengthen your understanding of a particular period or topic, or work towards achieving top grades, I will create lessons tailored specifically to your needs.
I am particularly passionate about helping students develop the skills that go beyond simply memorising historical facts: constructing convincing arguments, analysing sources, thinking critically and communicating ideas persuasively. My lessons are relaxed, engaging and fully tailored to each student. Rather than simply working through a textbook, I focus on helping students understand History, think critically and develop the skills needed to achieve their best possible results.
Depending on your level and goals, lessons can include:
1. Content and topic revision — breaking down difficult historical periods, events and themes into clear, manageable ideas.
2. Essay writing and structure — developing strong arguments, analysing evidence and writing clear, convincing essays.
3. Source and historical interpretation — learning how to critically analyse primary and secondary sources.
4. Exam preparation — practising questions, past exams, identifying common pitfalls and developing effective exam techniques.
5. Personalised feedback — reviewing written work, homework and practice questions/exams together and identifying specific ways to improve.
6. Confidence building — creating a supportive environment where you can ask questions, make mistakes and develop your skills at your own pace.
I teach History at all levels, from students who simply want to strengthen their understanding of the subject to those aiming for the highest grades in GCSEs, A Levels/IB, university applications and at undergraduate.

Weza was an excellent tutor leading up to my GCSE’s. She was supportive and very patient throughout, taking her time going over different topics and techniques. We would go over past papers and how best to approach different questions with Weza explaining to me what examiners are looking for and how to get marks. I could not recommend Weza highly enough.
Weza is a very supportive and kind tutor. She explains concepts in a clear and concise manner. Then she works through exam-styled questions with you so you know what to expect in when you're in an actual exam.
