About Dr Abdelkader
I am an experienced lecturer. I hold a PhD, an MSc and a BEng in Electrical Engineering. I have over 20 years of teaching experience at the university level during which I delivered several courses which span a wide range of specialties at different levels. I have the ability to work with a broad variety of students as I have taught in different countries including the UK. I am very passionate and enthusiastic about teaching, and eager to share my knowledge with students in order to spark their interest and curiosity for learning. I love to work with students to discover exactly how they learn and how I should communicate with them in order to be the most effective teacher or tutor I can possibly be for them. I will do my best to prepare them fully for any question they could get asked by teaching all content required in preparation for the exams, ensuring examination questions are practised thoroughly, and providing relevant homework, in exam style questions, after each lesson to consolidate their knowledge. I do believe that teaching at the graduate level would be different from the undergraduate level. At the undergraduate level, students need to be mentored and encouraged before they are challenged while at graduate level, students need to be inspired before they are challenged. I do believe that, in order to be a good instructor, I should remain a good student throughout life. Keep updated with the latest technologies, improve the teaching methods and tools, and update the course material on regular basis. I will be very happy to teach you GCSE, A-level and degree level mathematics as well as Arabic Language. I teach both adults and children. I will soon be offering more subjects up to degree level.

Through my experience, I believe that teaching is an opportunity to help, inspire, motivate and empower students. The most important moment is the first meeting with the student. During this session, the student should be advised and guided on how to learn in class and be successful in a working environment without being disturbed or distracted. My philosophy is to have clear goals and use the appropriate technology effectively. My teaching style is based on relational learning. I teach my students how to understand the subject rather than just answering the questions. I focus on a deep understanding so the knowledge will be based in their long term memory rather than their short term memory. I also believe that encouraging and enticing students in the subject matter presented, may make them feel good about asking questions. In addition to that, I would encourage learning outside the classroom through overnighters (aka homework), reading, internet searches, as well as consultation. Each student’s progress should be monitored on regular basis and any weakness is to be communicated to them. I make sure that a student feels that he/she is important and their opinion matters too. I treat each question asked with respect as a valid question. For me, there are no silly questions.

Abdelkader is a professional tutor who simplifies all aspects of the lesson very well and explains in such detail that everything just makes total sense to me! I totally recommend him for Arabic and Maths lessons. He helped me ace my A-level Maths and helped me improve my Arabic
He was great in explaining the methodology and how you should go about answering the question. He was helpful as he would show me the reasoning behind a question and the steps you should take to answer it. He gave me many great shortcuts to go around answering some questions which will be great in an exam when time is limited.
Dr Abdelkader taught me Maths for my A levels and I got an A* (97/100). I wouldn’t have achieved half that score if it wasn’t for his help. I strongly recommend him.
