About Sean
I am a First Class History graduate from the University of Nottingham that loves reading and the pursuit of greater knowledge. Teaching family friends' children and younger relatives whilst completing my A-Levels was my gateway into teaching and I have continued this throughout my Undergraduate degree! This has now continued as I now work towards completing my postgraduate master's degree in Law.

The typical length of a lesson is 1 hour, which will have a primary focus on essay structure and maximising marks. We will not focus on basic facts as that would be a waste of time and can be completed using flash cards. We will focus on the obscure facts that make an examiner impressed instead. Our introduction lesson will identify the needs of the student while also assessing their understanding of the subject through conversation. Through conversations with the student I can better understand the teaching approach that is best for them in particular as everyone is different.

Perfect! Sean is very personable and replied promptly to any queries I had when I was arranging sessions for my daughter who is studying A-level History. He created the sessions around areas my daughter was struggling with and was very flexible with the way he gave feed back and marking of work. I would highly recommend him as my daughter has and is finding his help and sessions definitely helping her understanding of the areas they are working on together.

Sean is an incredibly understanding, patient and reliable tutor who has helped me many a time with my essay questions. Not only is he thorough in his work but he’s also quick and efficient to make time for you.

Sean understands how to engage with his pupils and get their full attention. As a struggling English student, I sought after his help to improve my abilities and his kind, caring and knowledgeable demeanour allowed me to improve in my academic ability, helping me achieve grade 9 at GCSE.
Sean has weekly 1.5 hour sessions with my younger sister for her History GCSE. He’s been so supportive and helped her move up a few grades. She’s never been that intrigued by history but Sean has enabled her to develop quite an interest in the subject, keeping the lessons fun but on topic. Thanks Sean!!
Sean is very passionate about history which shines through when you discuss anything with him, all backed up by an encyclopaedic knowledge of the subject. Very easy going, calm and patient in sharing his knowledge. Thoroughly recommend him for any guidance and help related to the subject and beyond for that matter.
