About Selena
"Supporting pre-med students through the rigors of organic chemistry is honestly the most rewarding part of my week. I am currently in my final year at Stanford School of Medicine and remember clearly the stress of the 99th percentile MCAT grind. I help students navigate complex topics like amines and carbonyl chemistry by breaking down functional groups and stereochemistry.
My approach leans on IUPAC nomenclature and curved-arrow notation to build a solid foundation. We often spend time on IR and mass spectrometry, isomerism, and mechanism drawing to ensure clarity. Retrosynthesis becomes much less intimidating once you have worked through enough patterns with someone who has been in your shoes."

"Many students get stuck on reaction mechanisms, which is completely normal given how much information there is to process. I use custom reaction summary sheets to organize the chaos into something manageable.
Having 2.0 years of experience helps me identify exactly where a student is hitting a wall in their study flow. We will walk through the logic of organic chemistry rather than just memorizing paths. This process takes 7.0 minutes of focused review at the start of each session to ensure concepts from last time are solid. My goal is to keep our momentum steady as we move through new material.
You can expect a calm environment where no question is too small to address. We spend the remaining time connecting theory to practice problems to build your confidence for the actual exam. It is about understanding the why behind the carbon flow."
