About Heidi
I hold a Masters of Education, taught Art in a brick and mortar elementary school and online high school in Minnesota, have tutored ELL to Spanish and Korean-speaking adults, taught all academic subjects to homeschooling celebrity students in Los Angeles (elementary - high school), private tutored all ages of homeschool students in Math and Language Arts in LA, taught piano at Temecula Music Teacher studio for three years and in private homes for three years before taking everything on the road to become an online teacher and tutor across subject areas during the pandemic and with some geographic shifts (worked on a regenerative farm in VT, shot a pilot episode of a children's TV show in Pittsburgh... :) ).

I am highly relational and adaptive, and love tailoring my teaching approach to individual student personalities, interests, learning styles (and humor). I find creative ways and utilize a number of resources to ensure understanding is achieved. For example, with piano, some of my students are systematically going through book levels reading sheet music, some are picking pop songs to learn by ear, and some are working with lead sheets and learning chord theory. With math, I have made equivalent fractions tangible for students by making illustrative animations to demonstrate the concepts.
