I aim to incorporate all the basic skills of language learning (reading, writing, listening, speaking) into a conversation-based approach. While I am confident in teaching grammar, I know that most of my students struggle with speaking, so I aim to teach through conversation-based methods.
However, I am responsive to your needs as a student and I always want to hear your input, goals, and feedback. Each tutoring relationship is unique and there is no one size fits all approach.
Why choose a non-native teacher?
I know that many students prefer to choose native speakers but there are some good reasons to consider choosing a non-native too. These include the fact that:
I've learnt the language myself, so I know where the problem areas are
I've worked with multiple teachers, and have evaluated what I enjoyed from their classes and what I felt didn't work from the perspective of a student.
I'm easier to understand; I don't talk quite as fast, or with quite as difficult an accent as a native Spanish speaker.
