Ken and Michelle play gigs around the community, and I first got to know them both at Music World when they ran the shop there. Ken was teaching guitar lessons at the time. I felt quite nervous about starting, but I took the leap, and I’m so grateful I did.
Ken’s calm, passionate and professional approach immediately made me feel comfortable. He created a supportive learning environment that helped me grow in confidence, never once making me feel incapable or “not good enough.” The lessons were exceptionally well structured and paced in a way that felt safe and achievable, while still pushing us to develop our skills.
Each lesson moved along beautifully, keeping us challenged, inspired and learning. Ken’s theory knowledge is impeccable, matched by his natural ability as a guitarist, which he shares with his students in a humble and respectful way. I especially appreciated him sharing his own journey, from learning guitar to where he is now, including how he approached difficult moments, practice, and the joy that comes from playing.
I highly recommend Ken for guitar lessons and I’m really looking forward to continuing my third session with him.

Ken provides an excellent all round teaching experience, with his knowledge and practical tips and tricks. You will learn how to, not only play songs, but how to read music, understand tabs, chords, strumming patterns and finger picking! Highly recommended!!

Ken and his partner Michelle ran a music store in Port Lincoln. Over the years they have amazing work supporting young artists, organising structured open mics to give anyone a foot in the door and learn how to perform in front of an audience. I was lucky enough to have been a recipient of this generosity and am extremely gratefully.
I have done several guitar courses with Ken. He has a deep knowledge of music theory which he weaves into the course. You don’t only learn what and how to do something but how it works with the theory. He is a quiet, easy-going bloke that makes lessons something to look forward too.
