About Manjit
About Me
I’m a warm, kind and approachable teacher with a good sense of humour! I really value connecting with people and building positive relationships, as I believe trust is at the heart of successful learning. When students feel comfortable, understood and supported, they are much more willing to take risks, ask questions and work with you.
I became a teacher because I wanted to help students engage with their learning and discover that English can be both enjoyable and rewarding. One of my strengths is helping students understand English in a way that makes sense to them, while encouraging them to develop their own confidence, enjoyment and passion for the subject.
My background in psychology has also given me a particular interest in supporting students who find learning difficult. I love finding ways to overcome those barriers, helping students recognise their strengths and, most importantly, watching their confidence grow as they realise what they can achieve.

I am a qualified English teacher with 12 years’ experience working in outstanding schools teaching KS3, GCSE and IGCSE, and a former AQA GCSE examiner. I also tutor international students and have extensive experience supporting EAL learners.
With an MSc in Psychology and training in Educational Psychology, I have a strong understanding of how children learn and the barriers that can affect their confidence, progress and engagement.
I specialise in supporting students with SEN and SEMH needs, providing a calm, nurturing and individualised approach. I adapt my teaching to each student’s needs, helping them build confidence, develop their English skills and achieve their potential.
Whether your child needs exam preparation, KS3 support, EAL tuition or specialist SEN/SEMH support, I aim to make learning positive, accessible and purposeful.
