About Memory

I am an experienced tutor of over five years, having taught GCSE and A Level English Language, Literature, Citizenship Studies and Study Skills in London at a Further Education college, independent school, and a faith based academy. My teaching duties for GCSE and A Level have included preparing, teaching and marking the entirety of courses - from course preparation to exam administration - for hundreds of students, over the years.

During my Masters study I tutored degree students at universities in London so I can offer guidance with essay writing at both degree and masters level. Currently as a PhD student I teach on an ad hoc basis for the University of Hull as a research methods tutor and exam writer for masters students.

I hold a Joint BA in English Literature and Creative Writing and an MA in Sociology and Social Policy. My research experience means I can offer both qualitative and quantitative research methods guidance. During my time as an FE study skills tutor, I also helped hundreds of students research and write their university applications.

I offer one-to-one and group tuition.

I teach students on a case-by-case basis. The first lesson is used to identify student needs and to draft a learning schedule. Thereafter, every lesson follows the plan and is improved accordingly.

I have experience teaching students across a host of exam boards: OCR, AQA, Edexcel WJEC, BTEC for both national and international qualifications. Lessons are designed to cater for each exam board. I encourage students to understand the process and purpose of assessments so they can become confident and independent learners. I also highlight at each point the value of the material taught and how it can be used outside of education.

My teaching style has been praised by both students and their parents for being friendly, effective and confidence building.
