About Oscar
I want to best support you in the medicine application process. It is a daunting experience. You will have a student-centred tutoring experience. I encourage you to be completely open and transparent about your expectations and your needs, which I hope I can fulfil.
I have extensive experience in tutoring. I have been a lifeguard and first aid trainer assessor for over two years and have trained and assessed over 300 candidates and delivered over 20+ courses. I also hold a Level 3 Award in Education and Teaching (equivalent to an A-Level in teaching).
I read Law at the University of Warwick, and did a 180 and decided to become a doctor. I received 4/4 offers. Whilst I appreciate law may be a subject far and wide from medicine, I had spent half of my degree studying and researching medical law, ethics and hot topics in the news and healthcare, both as a module and for my undergrad dissertation. This helped me especially during the interview process. Having toiled away in front of a computer for three years from writing essays, I am also very well-placed to support and feedback on your personal statement's structure and coherency.

Applying to medicine is hard work. UCAT, interview prep, visiting open days, drafting personal statements and to top it off revising your A-levels.
No two journeys, nor motivations, into medicine are the same. We all come from different backgrounds. Therefore, sessions should not be the same either! I am here to offer personalised sessions to support you in your medicine application journey and getting a spot. Whether that be interview prep or personal statement review, or something else, I will listen and respond to your needs. I encourage you to set your expectations of me and have that open dialogue with me. I want to best support you.
If you choose to have interview prep with me, you will receive critical and constructive feedback and an actionable plan to improve. I will share my tips and tricks that helped me secure all 4 offers.
If you choose to have personal statement review, I can review and return feedback of any draft you send. We can then schedule a 30 min session for you to follow up on any questions you may have. Due to the time spent in getting the feedback returned, each personal statement review will be charged at the hourly rate.
