To this day, in an era where a great deal of material to be studied, reworked and embedded in your music bag is at your fingertips, it is very easy to lose sight of the main goals we should propose as musicians if we are not guided in an appropriate manner. I think it is important to have clear priorities, and to start from the first day a training course that will propose to the student the means to reach the goal that he has prefisso. The program I propose is divided into eight parts, which give the student plenty of tools needed to deal with Jazz music in a fanciful and stimulating way. Technique, Sound, Transcripts and Melodic Studies: Finding your own distinctive sound is very important and this requires a lot of work on both the right and the left hand, depending on the type of plotters used and the way you choose to perform the harmonic material on the instrument (plettro and fingers, only plettro, only fingers, or even the thumb). The melodic technique is treated in a very pragmatic manner, focusing on the use of alternate plotting, sweep picking and hybrid technique (economy picking). All of these techniques are highly valid and have strengths and weaknesses, providing the student with the ability to know and apply will allow him to immediately develop a personal taste and a profound timbral awareness of the instrument and timing in general. Learning the most effective way to play particular steps is crucial to be able to improvise by concentrating on music rather than on the mechanical aspects of the instrument. This theme is dealt with the study of scales and arpeggios, transcripts, language studies and more or less complex standards of melodies, trying to see all the studies in two different positions of the handle, as long as a strong and immediate instinct is developed by the student. Harmony and Harmonization: Guitar is a harmonic instrument and it is a shame not to deepen this aspect, mainly borrowing from arrangement and piano techniques and looking for a way to apply them to our beloved six strings. One of the most exciting and exciting disciplines faced by jazz guitar is the harmonization of the themes, always seeking new ways, new harmonies and new colors that are never repetitive or boring. Artists such as Joe Pass, Ed Bickert, Lennie Breau, George Van Eps, Peter Bernstein, and Kurt Rosenwinkel, just to name a few, have shown us a great many examples of techniques and abilities we can use and on which we can work. This part also includes studies on Barry Harris's method (sixth diminished scale) and the well-structured path, offered by Phil DeGreg's "Jazz Keyboard Harmony" book (link below). (concealed information) Solfeggio Jazz and Ear Training: "Building" primarily the sound in your ears is very important for having a rich vocabulary and developing an adequate awareness of what's happening around us. Studies will be carried out from the "Solfege Practicum Jazz" book, used by the KC Conservatory of the Hague (The Netherlands). There will also be exercises on standard tracks, where the student will have to play piano and / or guitar and perform various exercises that will instantly instill instinct, inner ear of the student, and understanding the musical processes. Repertoire: We forget the real book, the original source for knowing a standard are recordings of great performers of this music! The repertoire is fundamental to a Jazz musician, teaches us not only the harmonic changes and the melody of a particular standard, but also to understand the message that that particular composition proposes. In addition, it provides fertile ground for the extravagance of music encounters, as is the case in jam sessions and this is a typical feature and working need in the world of jazz, a language that you can speak anywhere in the world! Accompanying Techniques: Being able to accompany well is a primary skill for any harmonic instrument, and it is definitely appreciated by the musicians you will accompany, it is also really inspiring and fun, creates more interest, exchanges and interplay, making it all more fascinating, both for the soloist and for the accompanist ... that for the listener! This path will be run in parallel with the section "Harmony and Harmonization". Reading: There are a lot of jokes about the ability of guitar players to read and the worst thing is that they are well founded! Let's try to correct the shot by reading at first glance, in the first five minutes of each lesson.
