About Isabel
Hi! I’m Isabel, an educator with 7 years of experience teaching and supporting students from JK to Grade 9. I currently serve as the Head Educator at a specialized outdoor hockey school, where I lead a Grade 6–9 homeroom and design inquiry-based, hands-on programming for learners from kindergarten through junior high. My teaching style is calm, supportive, and student-centered. Over the years, I’ve worked with a wide range of students, including those with complex academic, behavioral, and socio-emotional needs. I prioritize building confidence, strengthening foundational skills, and helping students truly understand what they’re learning instead of just memorizing. Think of it like visiting a clinic: we don’t just treat the “symptom” in your writing; we dig into why an issue is happening and build it back up from the root. With 7 years of experience teaching the Ontario curriculum, I’ve supported students across all levels in literacy, essay writing, study skills, and academic organization. Beyond the classroom, I also specialize in thesis writing, creative writing (especially poetry), and film analysis. My own creative work has been published in an independent magazine, and I love bringing that passion for language into my lessons. My goal is to make learning feel clear, empowering, and truly personalized so you can grow with confidence, one skill at a time.
