About Elliot
With 11+ years of Piano teaching experience, I work with school students, college students, and working professionals. I believe learning piano should be a positive experience where students can improve their skills while enjoying the music they create.
My teaching philosophy is centered on personalized learning. I first understand each student's current level, musical goals, interests, learning style, practice habits, and challenges. I then adjust the lesson content, pace, and exercises according to their needs.
I teach piano fundamentals, finger technique, hand coordination, scales, chords, rhythm, music theory, note reading, sight-reading, ear training, song learning, improvisation, and performance preparation.
I use practical demonstrations, guided exercises, and real musical examples to make concepts clear. I encourage students to apply theory directly on the piano because practical learning helps them understand and remember concepts better.
Communication and patience are important parts of my teaching style. I encourage students to ask questions and explain what they find difficult. I provide constructive feedback and help them solve problems step by step.
I also teach students how to practice effectively. I guide them in creating routines, managing their time, setting goals, and focusing on difficult sections.
A notable achievement in my career is completing 9 years of teaching experience with learners from different age groups, educational backgrounds, and skill levels. This has strengthened my adaptability and mentoring abilities.
My goal is to help students become confident and independent piano players. Whether you want to learn songs, improve your technique, understand music theory, or prepare for a performance, I provide structured lessons and personalized support.

My piano teaching approach combines Adaptation to Learning Styles, Flexibility, Collaboration, and Positivity. I believe a personalized learning plan helps students understand music better and make steady progress.
I begin each learning journey by understanding the student's piano level, musical experience, interests, preferred learning style, and goals. I then select exercises, techniques, and songs that match their needs.
Beginners learn posture, hand position, finger coordination, notes, rhythm, scales, chords, and simple pieces. Students with previous experience can improve sight-reading, technique, interpretation, expression, and performance skills.
I use demonstrations, written music, listening exercises, repetition, and hands-on playing. I explain concepts in simple language and connect theory with practical piano work.
Flexibility is an important part of my methodology. I adjust the lesson pace, practice activities, and difficulty based on student progress. Collaboration allows students to participate in selecting songs, setting goals, and discussing challenges.
I maintain a positive learning environment where students feel comfortable trying new skills and making mistakes. I encourage patience, regular practice, and continuous improvement.
Along with piano, I can teach music theory, keyboard fundamentals, rhythm, chords, sight-reading, ear training, basic composition, and music appreciation. My goal is to create a learning plan that is structured, flexible, and enjoyable.
