About Mohammedali
Hello future student! If you are struggling in math right now, or need just a bit of support, or anywhere in the middle, I am ready to give you the confidence you need! I myself am a student at NYU Tandon right now, so I understand the stresses that come with tackling subjects you don't fully grasp yet. I am here to work with you and be patient through any difficult subjects or silly mistakes (I've made many of the latter myself). I've always been a "math loving" person, but it did not come naturally to me! I want to get rid of any idea that people are "either good at math or not". It's all about work, a flexible mindset, and a great teacher! Let's work together and I guarantee I can make math fun for the both of us!

I have 2 different approaches depending on the student and subject.
Bottom-Up or Top-Down
- Top Down = Theoretical approach to have the student understand what they are doing, then slowly introducing math concepts and, finally, running through examples to get practice.
- Bottom Up = Start with the practical problem solving aspects of a subject (what tools are needed, what is required to complete a problem), then slowly get more complicated with the examples. Introduce theory after so that a deeper understanding of the material is achieved.
I also utilize the following:
- Visualizing concepts/problems
- Hands on Practice
- Analogies
- Constant Feedback
A typical lesson will go like this:
1. Review homework if assigned + Go through problem areas/concepts again if needed
2. Tackle other concepts from their school class not addressed in tutoring that they'd like to go over
3. Go through the day's lesson
4. Practice problems + feedback
5. Review and assign homework if necessary
