About Aarav
I’m a Biology student at New York University with a strong academic background in the sciences and a passion for teaching. I earned A grades in biology and chemistry, scored a 5 on AP Biology, a 4 on AP Chemistry, and achieved a 1530 SAT score with a 790 in SAT Math.
I tutor biology, chemistry, math, and SAT prep, working one-on-one with students to help them build a deep, intuitive understanding of the material. My teaching approach is problem-based and student-centered, guiding students through challenging questions that push them to think critically, identify patterns, and develop confidence when approaching new concepts.
Rather than focusing on memorization, I emphasize conceptual understanding and independent problem-solving. Each session is tailored to the student’s goals and learning style, whether they’re aiming to improve grades, prepare for standardized tests, or strengthen foundational skills. My goal is to help students become confident, self-sufficient learners who can apply what they know well beyond exams.

My lessons are 1-on-1 and problem-based, designed to actively engage students rather than rely on passive memorization. I guide students through carefully selected problems that encourage them to think critically, ask questions, and discover new concepts on their own, with support and direction at each step.
Instead of simply giving answers, I focus on building intuition and reasoning skills, helping students understand why concepts work the way they do. This approach pushes students to develop confidence, independence, and long-term mastery—skills that translate across exams, coursework, and standardized tests.
Each session is tailored to the student’s pace and learning style, reinforcing fundamentals while gradually introducing more complex ideas. The goal is not just short-term improvement, but helping students become strong, self-sufficient problem solvers.
