About Justin

I am a nursing graduate with hospital-based clinical experience and a strong background in health science education. I understand how challenging nursing school, prerequisite courses, and exam preparation can be, so I aim to create a calm, supportive space where students can ask questions freely and learn at their own pace.

I come prepared for each session, communicate clearly, and tailor lessons to the student’s goals. Whether you need help understanding a difficult concept, preparing for an exam, or building a better study routine, I will meet you where you are and help you make steady progress.

I take a supportive, practical approach to tutoring. I know that subjects like nursing, chemistry, and TEAS science can feel overwhelming, especially when there is a lot of material to memorize at once. My goal is to help students truly understand the material instead of just giving them answers or telling them what to memorize.

I start by figuring out what the student is struggling with, what they are being tested on, and how they learn best. Some students need a topic explained from the beginning, while others understand the content but need help applying it to practice questions or organizing their studying. I adjust each session based on that.

When I teach, I like to break difficult topics into smaller, easier-to-understand pieces. I use examples, practice questions, visuals when helpful, and simple ways to remember important information. For nursing students, I also focus on the reasoning behind the answer. Instead of only asking, “What is the correct answer?” I help students understand why it is correct, why the other choices are less appropriate, and how to recognize similar questions in the future.

A typical lesson usually starts with a quick check-in about what the student wants to cover and any upcoming tests, assignments, or areas they have been stuck on. Then we review material from the previous session to make sure it has stuck. After that, we focus on a specific topic, work through examples together, and practice questions that match the student’s class or exam style. Toward the end of the lesson, I like to review the main takeaways and help the student make a realistic study plan for the week.

What sets me apart is that I am patient, organized, and able to explain things in a way that feels less intimidating. As a nursing graduate with clinical experience, I understand how important it is to connect what students learn in class to real patient care, critical thinking, and exam questions. I also understand the stress that can come with preparing for nursing school exams, the TEAS, or the NCLEX. I want students to feel comfortable asking questions without feeling embarrassed or rushed.

I work with nursing students, pre-nursing students, and students preparing for health science programs. This includes students in ADN and BSN programs, students taking prerequisites such as anatomy and physiology, biology, chemistry, and math, and students preparing for the TEAS or NCLEX. I can also help with subjects like nursing fundamentals, pharmacology, medical-surgical nursing, dosage calculations, health assessment, and NCLEX-style questions.

My main goal is to help students build confidence and develop study skills they can continue using on their own.
