My name is Hari Prabhu. I am a medical student at Imperial College London.
Having achieved 4A* at A-level in Maths, Further Maths, Biology and Chemistry, an A in physics AS level (highest possible grade) and all 9s/A* at GCSE, I believe I am academically qualified enough to help my students nurture their understanding of STEM subjects to a high standard. I also achieved a high BMAT score and a UCAT score amongst the top 1% in the country (3160 band 1), hence I would be happy to guide any potential medical applicants.
I have good experience in tutoring. I currently tutoring many students who give me excellent feedback regarding my teaching style. I volunteered at my local secondary school where I helped the teacher deliver lessons to students, tutored STEM subjects to GCSE and A-level students and coached rowing. I am a regular examiner at an MMI medical interview course in Leicester, run by the RISE foundation and I helped write a book regarding the medical school interview, 'Interviews for Medical School: Multiple Mini Interview (MMI) Practice'. I have also given medical interview practice to many successful students.
I am also heavily involved with various research projects, I am a collaborating author for a preclinical medical textbook 'Medicine in a Day', and scored distinction* (highest grade, top 10%) in both first and second year at Imperial College London.

I think it is important to tailor my teaching method to the individual student. Some will prefer to work through lots of questions and go through it with me, some will prefer more loosely structured sessions where we discuss a concept in detail to improve their understanding.
I like to prepare prior to every lesson. I aim to help my students develop an understanding of a concept rather than just learn how to answer questions, although I am happy to help with both. This understanding will make exams much easier and raise their self-confidence which I believe is vital. I will initially ask for a certain topic area or for a question paper or sheet that my student struggles with. I will look at the concepts covered, what they found difficult, and prepare appropriate resources to ensure they succeed. I will go through questions or a concept with them, and provide any online or textbook resources that I think will be useful. I tutor:
- Medical interview practice, UCAT and Personal statement
- A-level Biology and Maths
- GCSE Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Maths
- 11+ and KS3

I charge £30 per hour for subject tuition (Biology, Chemistry, Maths, Physics). I charge £40 per hour for medicine tuition (UCAT, personal statement, interview preparation).

Hence, I normally charge by bank transfer.
