The lecture explores the Nigerian political development and Events from the pre-colonial, colonial and post independence period; the Nigerian constitutions, their making processes, the makers and operators of the various constitutions; the Nigerian military, origin, functions/powers; military intervention into Nigerian politics; the Nigerian National Assembly, its establishment, functions/powers; the Nigerian presidency, the president and the vice-president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; the Nigerian federal system of government, regional, states and local governments creations; the Nigerian foreign policy, foundation, determinants, objectives ; and its conduct; transition to civilian/democratic regimes and programmes; the Nigerian civil war; Nigeria's past and present military and civilian democratic leaders, colonial governors, regional premiers, all states elected governors, military governors and administrators; and all the Nigerian political parties, their establishments and functions.
